This Privacy Policy explains what data Stream Bounty ("the Extension", "we", "us", "our") collects when a broadcaster installs the Stream Bounty Twitch Extension and when a viewer interacts with it, how that data is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. Stream Bounty is a Twitch Extension that runs inside a broadcaster's channel page and lets viewers play games (such as bounty and bingo-style events), vote, and appear on leaderboards.
By installing or interacting with the Extension, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Playing Stream Bounty requires granting the Identity Link permission — the Extension does not support anonymous play. Once granted, Twitch shares:
We request Identity Link so that a viewer's bounty progress, votes, and leaderboard position are attached to their actual Twitch identity, for example showing their display name and avatar on a leaderboard, rather than an anonymous session ID that resets between visits.
We collect data generated by using the Extension itself, such as bounty and bingo card progress, votes cast, points or scores, event participation, Bits usage, and timestamps of these actions. This data is linked to the viewer's real Twitch identity.
For Broadcasters, we collect the Twitch Channel ID and configuration choices made for the Extension (such as event and game settings) in order to run the Extension on their channel.
Broadcasters can optionally link their own Twitch account to power Automated Events, which automatically triggers bounty and bingo events from stream activity such as subscriptions, Bits, Hype Trains, Goals, Polls, Predictions, and Charity campaigns. This requires granting broader permissions than the viewer Identity Link described above, including permission to read this stream activity and to send messages to the channel's chat (for example, to announce game winners) — the Extension does not read the content of chat messages. We securely store the credentials Twitch issues for this connection, and only use them to power these Automated Events features on the Broadcaster's channel.
Our EBS automatically logs technical data needed to operate and troubleshoot the Extension, such as IP address, request timestamps, error details, and performance metrics. This data is processed through our observability tooling (see "Third-Party Service Providers" below) and is used only to keep the Extension running reliably and to diagnose issues.
Separately from the Extension itself, this marketing website may collect an email address if you choose to contact us, and standard web usage data (such as browser type and pages visited) generated by visiting the site.
We do not sell viewer or Broadcaster data, and we do not use Twitch identity data for advertising or marketing purposes.
We share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the Extension:
These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and confidentiality obligations, and do not use it for their own purposes.
We retain gameplay, identity, and Broadcaster configuration data for as long as necessary to provide the Extension's features, such as bounty progress, votes, and leaderboards. We do not currently apply an automatic expiry to this data, so it may be retained indefinitely unless deleted through one of the methods below.
If Twitch notifies us that you have revoked our application's authorization on your Twitch account, we automatically delete your stored Twitch access and refresh tokens. This does not by itself delete your gameplay history, display name, or other data held against your Twitch User ID.
For all other data, deletion is handled manually on request rather than automatically: contact us using the details below and we will locate and delete the data we hold about you, except where we are required to retain it to comply with a legal obligation. Because your data may be associated with more than one channel you've played on, this may take us some time to complete in full rather than being instant.
If You are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK, You have certain data protection rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of Your personal data, and the right to data portability. If You make a request, We aim to respond within one month. To exercise these rights, contact Us using the details below.
If you are unhappy with how we've handled Your personal data or a request You've made, You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As we are based in the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), though You may also contact the supervisory authority in Your own country of residence.
If You are a California resident, You have the right to know what personal information We collect about You, to request its deletion, and to request correction of inaccurate information, subject to certain exceptions. We do not sell or share Your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is no "opt-out of sale" to exercise. To make a request, contact Us using the details below.
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data described above, including restricting access to our EBS and relying on Twitch's own secure identity infrastructure for Identity Link. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Stream Bounty is based in the United Kingdom. Data we collect may be processed and stored on servers located outside of your country of residence, including through the third-party providers listed above. Where we transfer personal data outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Our website and the Extension may contain links to other sites that we don't operate, such as Twitch or our Discord support server. If you follow one of these links, we have no control over and no responsibility for that site's content or privacy practices, and we'd recommend reviewing its own privacy policy.
The Extension is not directed at anyone under the age of 13, and Twitch's own Terms of Service restrict Extension use to users who meet Twitch's minimum age requirements. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes affecting Identity Link or how Twitch identity data is used will be highlighted prominently.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or want to request access to or deletion of your data, contact us by email: support@stream-bounty.com
